Assessments & Therapy

Our dedicated, experienced, and qualified team provides daily support, therapeutic care, direct work sessions and work tirelessly to provide the highest level of care possible to our young people.

We also work together with a team of therapists and counsellors to enable us to form an understanding of the internal world of our young people using state of mind assessments.

These assessments become the foundation for planning, sourcing, and providing the required therapy that meets the individual need of each young person.

Our therapists and counsellors provide a range of services including, assessments, psychotherapy, observational studies, play, music and drama therapy, psychodynamic counselling, meditation, humanistic counselling, equine and animal therapy and liaison with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and other agencies.

Our therapists and counsellors are highly experienced, qualified and alongside their work with our young people also support our teams with regular group supervisions and clinical services to provide their expertise and knowledge to enable reflective work to be conducted by staff team, to ensure consistency in therapeutic care. They also offer guidance to make sure that the individual plans and goals for our young people are being met.

We also consult with other specialist services to provide support as required.

Our staff are trained in PACE and use this model to therapeutically parent all young people who reside in any OnePlace Homes  home.

Sexual Trauma Services

OnePlace Homes provides specialist placements for children and young people who are vulnerable to or are survivors of sexual exploitation.

OnePlace Homes  understands the devastating impact of Child Sexual Exploitation and Criminal Exploitation. Children and young people’s long term positive outcomes significantly decrease.

OnePlace Homes  is dedicated to safeguarding young people. We have worked proactively to bring together local agencies directly linked with young people to create a Child Sexual Exploitation intervention and interruption plan. We now offer an in-house intervention programme which with effective partnership working with Thames Valley police, local youth offending teams and Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services we aim to reduce children’s vulnerability to sexual exploitation.

Our comprehensive programme aims to raise awareness for young people via workshops, young person training sessions and direct 1:1 weekly sessions conducted by our staff, trained in Child Sexual Exploitation support work approaches.

The work with each young person starts with a CSE indicator tool. We then focus on building confidence, self-esteem and safety awareness.

Young people complete direct work over an 8-week course which assesses the individual before starting the program. The program covers many topics, here are some examples

  • What does risk look like?
  • Bullying and peer pressure
  • What makes a Healthy Relationship?
  • What makes an Unhealthy Relationship?
  • Exploring stereotypes and gender roles
  • Safe Internet Use/Sexting
  • What is Consent
  • Safe sex
  • The Grooming Process, Child Sexual Exploitation & the differing models & methods
  • Circle of trust in the adults who care for them

And much more.

CSE work does not cease when the intervention programme ends. Our residential staff teams are highly qualified Safeguarding and CSE trained practitioners and continue CSE work in key work and direct work sessions.
